Overview
The Wasp is a compact, thruster-powered aerial drone commonly observed flying in coordinated patrols with other Wasps, occasionally accompanied by Hornet units. While in patrol mode, their flight is orderly and predictable; however, once engaged, they switch to highly erratic movement patterns, making them challenging targets. Equipped with light-caliber machine guns, Wasps actively scan for threats—sometimes with excessive sensitivity, even targeting inanimate humanoid statues.
Tactical Behavior
Before opening fire, a Wasp projects a faint red targeting laser, followed by short, controlled bursts of bullets. Each burst deals moderate incremental damage, but sustained exposure can quickly degrade a Raider's defenses.
Critical Weakness: Exposed Thrusters
The Wasp's thrusters are completely exposed and unarmored, presenting a reliable vulnerability. Skilled Raiders can disable a Wasp by destroying two thrusters, causing it to crash. A fall from sufficient height results in instant destruction. Notably, destroying only one thruster causes the drone to fly even more unpredictably, increasing the difficulty of subsequent shots.
