While exploring the vast worlds of Borderlands 4 is a joy, progressing the main story is key to leveling up, understanding the narrative, and facing its most formidable bosses. Step 1: Bypass The Ramp Test
After the preceding quest, you'll return to Carcadia City. Your objective is to find NPC Levaine on the western plateau to advance the story. Note that you cannot interact with her in the Leaders' Chamber at this time.
A cutscene will show rockets launching from the Fallen Crown Crater, Callis's lair. To reach it, you must cross a massive rift. You'll meet NPC Zane, who proposes a ramp test. We strongly recommend telling Zane to skip the test. Attempting it will only result in a fatal fall, wasting your hard-earned BL4 cash on a respawn.
Step 2: Secure The Spatial Accelerator
After skipping the test, head to Gunkwork in northern Carcadia Burn. This is a high-danger Ripper facility—enter with your best gear and ample supplies.
Clear the area and investigate the giant crawler to the northeast. This triggers Zane to direct you to a massive gate, where a Drilldozer Deluxe will burst through. Evade it, then climb the factory wall and glide onto its platform. You'll need a keycard to override it.
To get the keycard, jump onto the drill as it passes and ride it back to the crawler. Defeat the enemies on top, including the foreman mini-boss, Holey Moley, to obtain it. Use the keycard on the drill's panel, then jump down to the revealed area below. Overheat the engine by turning all the valves, allowing you to claim the Spatial Accelerator from the center of the room.
Step 3: Traverse The Rift & Enter The Lair
Place the accelerator on the machine beside Zane. Power up the generators, mount your digi-runner, and use the machine to catapult you across the chasm. Hold your course during the launch; do not jump or glide, and you'll land safely in a cave.
Fight your way through to the Moon-Called Throne. Navigate through several rooms, clearing Rippers, and use ECHO-4 to crack the final door. Defend it from multiple waves of enemies. Once the door is open, leap into the grinding wheel pit to face the final boss.
Step 4: Boss Strategy - How to Beat Callis the Ripper Queen
Callis is a tanky boss with devastating attacks. Her head is her weak point, but her constant movement makes it a difficult target.
Phase 1 - Armor: Her armor is extremely durable. Equip a weapon with high corrosive damage to break her armor bar efficiently. This is also crucial for dealing with her helpers.
Add Management: She summons minions that charge and explode. Eliminate them with grenades or AoE attacks before they get close. She is also aided by Tabnak, The Ripper Prince; simply dodge the orbs he throws from the air.
Phase 2 - Clones: After her armor breaks, Callis becomes briefly invincible and creates shadow clones that slow you. Avoid them while unloading your highest-DPS weapons on her.
Headshot Opportunities: Aim for her body during her mobile phases, but switch to her head when she lands and stands still to fire.
After her defeat, collect your loot and the quest item, the Command Bolt. Return it to Levaine in Carcadia City to complete "Her Flaming Vision."
