I did it. I completed the Zubimendi SBC purely for this review. Now that it’s over, EA, can I have my fodder back?
Priced at nearly 100,000 coins during the first week of launch, this SBC demanded both an 85 and an 86-rated squad—it practically drained my club.
The Pros:
A rare Premier League CDM.
Comes with Silkiness (PlayStyle+) and Trivela Pass traits; 4-star weak foot.
Feels relatively agile, decent defensive stats.
Deep Lying PlayStyle+ at both CM and CDM.
Overall, an upgrade over the free Foundation Endo.
The Cons:
Why does a pure CDM have Power Shot? A useless silver trait for the role.
No Incisive Pass or Blocker—key for a deep midfielder.
The price is simply too high for what he offers.
In-Game Experience (41212 Narrow):
I used him as a lone CDM with budget CMs like Rabiot and Touré ahead. His presence was… underwhelming. Going missing in attack is one thing, but being invisible in defense is unacceptable. While he occasionally made a good read, his model feels average and unreliable.
Yes, he can turn and carry the ball forward. But in this meta, even clunky players can do that. I’ve started appreciating Chukwuemeka more after this.
There were occasional bright spots in buildup, like this assist:

But defensively? Nothing worth clipping. Just average.
Verdict:
If he had Intercept+ and Blocker, and cost around 50k, he’d be a must-do. As it stands, only Arsenal fans should consider this SBC.
