FC 26 UT Market Watch Sept 25: Ongoing Decline Opens a Squad Investment Opportunity?

Time: 2025-09-25

As expected, the Ultimate Team market in FC 26 continues to decline, largely driven by panic surrounding upcoming Division Rivals (DR) rewards. Many players are selling off their squads, waiting to see what they pack before completing SBCs and rebuilding teams.

On my own account, I’ve been holding a TOTW Haaland. At one point, he was up nearly 200K, but after the latest crash, I’m now down over 100K—a brutal swing of nearly 400K overall. For anyone who asked about him earlier, apologies—at 1.1M, it really was the right time to cash out. I do still think he can rebound, though most of this drop is panic-driven.

Gold Van Dijk has also taken a big hit. Since he wasn’t included in the first leak, the price collapsed after initial hype. Anyone holding at 330–340K should have sold. Once the market stabilizes, there may be a small rebound, but clearly this isn’t his best version.

Today’s patch also brought a nerf to low-driven shots. The notes suggest maximum power low shots are less effective, though it shouldn’t impact Haaland much—after all, who really maxes out low-shot power? Another factor weighing on his price is the Premier League POTM voting, but that feels like a stretch. More than anything, fear is pushing the market down.

Looking ahead, there are plenty of promising TOTW 2 investment targets, especially with the weekend approaching. The new Chukwuemeka SBC has been well received—it’s cheap, strong for early squads, and popular in Europe, though links remain surprisingly quiet. Adeyemi has ticked up slightly, while the other two cards dipped. I expect many players to re-engage after DR rewards hit, since coins will be limited and demand for these SBC links will rise again.

One thing to keep in mind this year is that DR rewards have been nerfed significantly—down to about one-quarter of last year’s cash return. Instead of 100K+ injections, players are getting far less, meaning slower price rises and less buying power overall. Combined with heavy untradeable rewards, supply dynamics have shifted.

Still, this moment represents a buying window. If you’re eyeing Icons or expensive gold cards, now is the time to move. Prioritize fast, meta-relevant players—Ferdinand, Blanc, and Alberto have already climbed noticeably. I’ll be putting together a full recommendation list soon.
