How to Obtain the Crown of Eyes in Path of Exile 2
The Crown of Eyes is a unique Vermeil Circlet that enters the global drop pool once you reach monster level 45 or higher. It will not drop in early zones but becomes increasingly attainable as you progress through the mid-campaign and beyond.
Farm level 45+ zones, bosses, or maps where unique items are more common.
Due to its global availability, targeted farming is less efficient unless paired with high monster density or boss runs.
Use an Orb of Chance on a normal Vermeil Circlet for a chance to upgrade it to the unique version.
Success rate is approximately 0.625%, meaning an average of 160 Orbs per successful attempt.
This method can “brick” the item and is not currency-efficient for most players—recommended only for those with abundant PoE 2 Currency to spare.
Purchase directly from other players via the in-game trade market.
Prices vary based on Energy Shield, Accuracy, and Attribute rolls, as well as league economy.
This is the fastest and most guaranteed method to acquire a well-rolled helmet without excessive currency investment.
The helmet always comes with the following modifiers (ranges shown):
(100–140)% increased Energy Shield
+(150–200) to Accuracy Rating
+(10–15) to all Attributes
–10% to Fire Resistance
Increases and Reductions to Spell Damage also apply to Attacks
Requirements:
Level 45
64 Intelligence
Priority Rolls for Investment:
High Energy Shield (130%+) for defense-focused or hybrid builds
High Accuracy for attack-based setups
High All Attributes for stat-stacking synergy
The –10% Fire Resistance penalty is manageable with mid-to-late gear and should not deter use.
The helmet’s defining modifier—“Increases and Reductions to Spell Damage also apply to Attacks”—breaks conventional build boundaries and enables extraordinary synergies.
Spell damage clusters are often placed in areas of the passive tree far from traditional attack nodes.
With Crown of Eyes, pathing through these clusters doubles their value, allowing efficient travel and powerful double-dipping.
Example: A Monk investing in Witch-area spell and Energy Shield nodes gains substantial attack damage simultaneously.
The Mercenary using Irongrasp armor gains:
Iron Grip: 1% increased Projectile Damage per 2 Strength
Iron Will: 1% increased Spell Damage per 2 Strength
Normally, Iron Will only benefits spells. With Crown of Eyes, its spell damage boost also applies to attacks, effectively doubling the value of Strength for projectile builds.
Enables use of spell-damage wands, scepters, and jewels for attack builds.
Opens up unconventional links and support gem combinations that scale both spell and attack damage.
The Crown of Eyes is more than just a helmet—it’s a build-enabling powerhouse that redefines scaling in Path of Exile 2. Whether obtained through drops, gambling, or trade, its unique conversion mechanic offers unparalleled flexibility for creative and powerful character builds.
