Borderlands 4 Upcoming Content: Horrors of Kairos, Christmas DLC & Bloomreaper The Invincible

Time: 2025-10-14

Gearbox set the community abuzz with major announcements at PAX Australia, outlining a rapid-fire schedule of free events and premium DLC for Borderlands 4. This roadmap promises to keep Vault Hunters busy with seasonal activities, new stories, and the ultimate endgame challenge. Here's a complete breakdown of everything coming to the game. To ensure you're fully equipped for these new challenges, you can find all the essential Borderlands 4 items and gear at our trusted partner, MMOMAX.

Horrors of Kairos: Free Halloween Event

Kicking off the new content is Horrors of Kairos, a free, limited-time Halloween event running from October 23 to November 6.

The event introduces dynamic weather effects like blood rain to world boss encounters. Defeating these bosses is key to earning the event's exclusive rewards, which include:

  • "Gourd Your Loins" Jack-o-Lantern Head for all four Vault Hunters

  • "Hex Appeal" Weapon Skin

  • "Murmur" Legendary Tediore Assault Rifle

  • "Skully" Legendary Order Grenade

The "Murmur" rifle excels at executing weakened enemies, while the "Skully" grenade is a homing weapon that fires pellets at its target. While fun additions, neither weapon is considered top-tier for endgame content.

Bounty Pack 1: How Rush Saved Mercenary Day

Mark your calendars for November 20, when the first paid DLC, How Rush Saved Mercenary Day, arrives. This festive Bounty Pack is included with the Deluxe and Super Deluxe editions.

The story tasks players with helping the NPC Rush create a holiday celebration, all while thwarting the villainous Minister Screw, who despises joy. The DLC is filled with Christmas cheer, featuring themed decorations, Santa-hat-wearing Claptrap, and a workshop area.

Completing the DLC's missions rewards players with a secret card that unlocks over 20 cosmetic items and 4 reforgeable gear pieces. The standout reward is the new Missile Laser legendary weapon, which fires homing missiles that can be manually detonated with its secondary laser fire for massive damage.

While Bounty Pack 1 is a lighter offering, Gearbox has confirmed that a larger, more substantial Bounty Pack 2 is already in development, promising a grenade launcher, a pearlescent weapon, and more.

Bloomreaper The Invincible: The Ultimate Challenge

Arriving in December 2025 as a free update, Bloomreaper The Invincible will be the game's first truly endgame boss. This Vile Enemy faction boss will require peak performance, with immense health pools, devastating damage, and deadly mechanics that will demand expert use of movement abilities like the grapple hook and dash.

Located in the new Terminus Range area on Kairos, this fight is expected to introduce a new endgame zone. Defeating Bloomreaper will grant access to five exclusive pieces of equipment, one of which is speculated by the community to be a new version of the classic Face Puncher shotgun.

Future Updates and Cross-Platform Plans

Beyond the immediate content, Gearbox confirmed that cross-platform saves are officially in development. The beloved Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode will also be added for players seeking the ultimate challenge, and recent balance changes have been made specifically to prepare the meta for these new endgame activities.

With a constant stream of events and the first Invincible boss on the horizon, there's never been a better time to be a Vault Hunter. As the endgame challenges become increasingly difficult, having the best gear is paramount.
